I'm pleased to announce that the first Drupal 7 compatible release of the Almanac module is available for download at http://drupal.org/project/almanac. It was developed and tested against the Alpha 3 release of Drupal 7, and the latest Drupal7 version of the Date API.

It retains the same functionality as the Drupal 6 version. What are the changes?

• Drupal 7 implements some minor changes in permissioning
• The block functionality has been modified to relfect changes in Drupal 7's Block API

Since location data is stored in the variables table, there's not much of an update process. Users should be able to simply overwrite their existing module directory with the new files.

Now, onto developing a 2.x almanac module.
